Achievements at age 13
ACHIEVEMENTS AT AGE 13
I have participated in numerous tournaments and achieved several notable results. Looking back over the past years, I clearly remember the feeling of competing for the first time against other players. It was an exciting, entirely new experience, filled with anticipation and anxiety. The first tournament I won a prize in was the Ho Chi Minh City Talent Competition in 2020, when I was just 8 years old.
Since then, I have continued to train and participate in subsequent tournaments, achieving significant results in tennis, such as:
3rd Place U12 Doubles at the City Youth Tournament 2024
1st Place U12 at the Phu Nhuan District Summer Talent Tournament 2023
1st Place U12 at the TFL Country Club Open 2022
1st Place U12 at the Racquet Club of Irvine USTA Junior Circuit
1st Place U12 at the USTA Tournament at Westminster High School
My early tournaments were not easy at all; I had to face psychological challenges and confront difficult opponents on my journey to achieving success in tennis tournaments.
And of course, besides training and competing on the tennis court, I always focus on my studies, although my classroom focus may not seem as strong as my focus on tennis, as I am often among the top, or rather, the top troublemaker in class. Nevertheless, I strive to achieve the best results and complete my studies as effectively as possible.
In addition to academics and tennis, there’s something I’d like to share about my business skills. While this might not be considered an achievement by some, I once actively sold items like “lì xì envelopes and lanterns” at Vietnamese-American markets before Tet and was rewarded with an Apple Watch from my brother for exceeding sales targets. I also frequently exchange and sell shoes at much lower prices to my friends and have earned quite a bit of pocket money!
Looking back at my achievements at age 13, I’m not necessarily proud, but I am very happy and innocent. I am truly grateful for what I have achieved, and for the patience, effort, and support from my parents and Coach Tâm Hảo, which have helped me overcome difficulties and continuously improve.
