THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT IN MY 8-YEAR JOURNEY

Throughout this journey, there are certainly many unforgettable moments. Can I recall past memories? Probably not in full detail, as I was very young, and piecing together fragments of memory can be challenging.

However, there are certain moments, though not always clear, that stand out and remind me of what I’ve experienced. Among the many changes in daily life, growth, and development, from a small child to an energetic pre-teen, there are moments I’ll never forget—like my first tennis lesson, meeting Coach Tâm Hảo for the first time, starting first grade, and participating in my first competition. Notably, my first performance in the Ho Chi Minh City Junior Tennis Tournament in 2020, where I won second place, stands out as particularly special and memorable.

It was one afternoon in Saigon when I was around 7 or 8 years old…

The significance of this event wasn’t just about the ranking but the emotions I experienced during my first competition. I was both excited and terrified, which made me extremely anxious and difficult to handle, even as I recall and share these feelings now. How could a child stand before an audience, compete against an opponent who wasn’t my coach, and remember all the techniques and skills? My mind was blank and I was very nervous…

As my parents advised, a good player is one who can control their emotions, display bravery in front of their opponents, and compete effectively. Even though I didn’t win first place, achieving second place was a shift in my mindset, pushing me to study and train harder in tennis.

That moment marked the beginning of a more serious and dedicated approach to tennis. Through practices and competitions, I’ve encountered many challenges and learned valuable lessons. Every drop of sweat, every mistake, represents progress, small actions that provide profound experiences and important lessons.

Despite the numerous challenges, feelings of helplessness, and moments of frustration and giving up, that initial experience remains a powerful motivator and a foundation for moving forward, overcoming difficulties on the path ahead.

Thank you for the 8-year journey that has never given up and embraced every challenge!
